About

Sharon K. McQuown

Sharon McQuown, MSN, RN, LNCC is a master’s-prepared registered nurse and board-certified legal nurse consultant who helps clarify complex medicine for families and trial teams. A former hospital leader with experience across thoracic, peripheral vascular, neurology, gastrointestinal, and transplant care, Sharon advocates for patients and clients by turning medical records into persuasive, fact-driven narratives.

Sharon brings decades of frontline clinical judgment to litigation. She has partnered with preeminent plaintiff trial lawyers on wrongful death and catastrophic injury cases involving medical malpractice, commercial truck accidents, pharmaceuticals, defective products, aviation crashes, and sexual assault among other claims. She organizes the medical timeline, identifies standards-of-care breaches, and educates the trial team on the anatomy and physiology at the heart of each case—so jurors and decision-makers truly understand the harm.

Her work has supported record results. Sharon served on the trial team recognized by The National Law Journal and The National Trial Lawyers as the 2018 Products Liability Trial Team of the Year for a $242.1 million verdict against an automaker after defective seat backs and seat belts caused catastrophic brain injuries to two children. She also contributes to high-stakes wrongful death and catastrophic injury matters in state and federal courts.

Sharon’s approach is rigorous and empathetic: analyze both sides, pressure-test strengths and weaknesses, and center the human story with dignity. Guided by the Latin Serviam—“I will serve”—she mentors, advances scholarship and STEM initiatives, and leads in professional organizations. She has been board-certified as a Legal Nurse Consultant since 1997 (the first year of national testing).
