Chase R. Newsom

About

Chase R. Newsom

Chase Newsom is a trial lawyer who represents clients in wrongful death and serious personal injury litigation nationwide. He focuses on high-stakes cases that need to be tried to a judge or jury and has been consistently recognized by D Magazine as one of the Best Lawyers Under 40, marking him as a leading young trial lawyers in Dallas–Fort Worth.

Chase has meaningful courtroom experience having helped secure a $7.26M wrongful-death jury verdict for a family devastated by an 18-wheeler crash and a $975,000 jury verdict for the recovery of attorney’s fees for a colleague. He has litigated against Fortune 100 and Fortune 500 corporations and some of the largest law firms in the world, drawing on his federal clerkship to navigate complex, high-pressure matters.

Born into a family of trial lawyers, Chase carries that legacy with a modern edge: intense preparation, clear storytelling, and grit. He knows that in high-stakes litigation nothing is easy, so he finds alternative paths forward when corporations or insurance companies try to deny, delay, and defend.

Outside the courtroom, Chase serves on the Texas Young Lawyers Association (TYLA) Board, an organization of more than 40,000 attorneys. In 2025, he was elected Chair of the TYLA Board, leading statewide initiatives for young lawyers and law students. He is also a Fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation, a distinction limited to roughly one-third of one percent of Texas lawyers each year.

Before joining Brooker Law, Chase worked in Houston with one of the nation’s leading trial firms on cases involving 18-wheeler crashes, plane crashes, refinery explosions, maritime incidents, and birth trauma. He previously served a federal clerkship for the Hon. Mary Lou Robinson, U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas (2017-2018).

Away from work, Chase spends time with his wife Carla and their dog, Meeko. He is also an accomplished musician who has performed professionally as a studio session guitarist.
